Description

Loss Recover Edge is built for traders who want a safe and intelligent way to recover positions that were opened in the wrong direction. Unlike martingale or averaging systems that rely on opening increasingly large trades, this EA uses the Zone Recovery Method to manage risk effectively. The system defines a recovery zone around the losing position, and when price exits that zone, the EA closes the basket of trades without loss. This ensures recovery is achieved without exposing the account to dangerous drawdowns or oversized trades.

The EA works in any market condition — whether the trend is bullish or bearish — and can recover both buy and sell positions. Traders can customize the recovery zone with fixed or increasing heights, and adjust volume settings to match their strategy. This flexibility allows Loss Recover Edge to adapt to different trading styles and instruments, while maintaining its core principle of safe recovery. By focusing on disciplined risk management, it provides peace of mind for traders who don’t know where the market will move next but want a reliable way to protect their capital.

Loss Recover Edge is not about chasing profits recklessly; it’s about ensuring that wrong trades are closed without loss, preserving account stability and trader confidence. For anyone seeking a professional-grade recovery tool that avoids the pitfalls of martingale, this EA is a smart and dependable solution.

Ideal for traders who want protection without prediction, Loss Recover Edge runs quietly in the background, managing recovery trades with mathematical logic and minimal risk. Whether you’re managing a single ticket or multiple positions across your account, this EA gives you the tools to recover confidently and efficiently.

  • Don’t let bad entries drain your account. Choose Loss Recover Edge and turn losing positions into safe exits.

Start Condition:

This section defines when recovery begins. Simply set your preferred start conditions, and the EA will monitor losses until the threshold is reached, then automatically initiate recovery.

trade loss recover edge inputs start conditions
  • When to Start Recovery – Options available include: Points (Fixed), Points (ATR), Percent of Balance, Loss Amount.
  • Fixed Distance to Start – set a specific number of points at which recovery begins.
  • Distance to Start [ATR Multiplier] – trigger recovery based on ATR‑calculated values.
  • Loss to Start [% of Balance] – define recovery start when a position’s loss reaches a set percentage of account balance.
  • Loss Amount to Start [Account Currency] – initiate recovery once the loss equals a specified monetary amount in account currency.

Recommended Values: It is best to trigger recovery using loss points. For most Forex pairs, a distance of around 1000 points provides stable performance. Traders seeking quicker, more aggressive recovery can reduce this to approximately 500 points.

Zone Settings:

In this section, you can fine‑tune the zone parameters that control how recovery trades are managed. The initial zone height (used for the first recovery trade) is equal to the Distance to Start defined in the previous section. Extending the zone size can be useful for reducing the risk of opening multiple trades in flat or sideways markets. The following options are available:

trade loss recover edge inputs zone settings
  • Extend Zone Height – Choose whether the zone should expand at each step. Options: Fixed Points / ATR / No Extend.
  • Distance to Add Each Step – Define the number of points to add to the zone height at every step.
  • ATR to Add Each Step – Increase zone height dynamically based on an ATR multiplier.
  • Maximum Number of Orders – A safeguard parameter that limits the number of trades opened in flat markets.
  • Minimum Zone Height (Points) – Sets the lowest allowed zone height. Particularly useful when using ATR to ensure a minimum threshold is respected.

The structure and behavior of these zone elements are illustrated in the strategy graph below.

Recommended Values: A zone extension of approximately 100–200 points is recommended for Forex pairs. For aggressive recovery, you may disable the extension, though this increases the risk of failure. For other instruments, the extension can be determined based on symbol volatility or ATR values.

Volume:

The lot size of recovery trades can be customized through a wide range of options provided in this section. Since the Zone Recovery strategy requires increasing lot sizes at each step, the rate of increase directly impacts recovery speed and risk:

  • Higher increase rates → Faster recovery, but with greater risk exposure.
  • Lower/medium increase rates → Safer recovery, though it may take longer depending on market movement.

It is important to set these parameters according to your account margin and risk management plan. Available options:

trade loss recover edge inputs volume settings
  • Volume Mode – Defines how lot sizes will increase. Based on the selected mode, one of the following inputs will be applied.
  • Volume to Add – Specifies the number of lots to add at each recovery step.
  • Volume Multiplier – Multiplies the lot size of the new recovery trade by the previous trade’s lot size.
  • Sequences of Volume Adds – Allows defining custom additions for each step. Values are separated by commas.
    • Example: If the sequence is 0.1,0.15,0.35, then the first recovery trade will be the original lot size +0.1, the second will add another +0.15, and the third will add +0.35….
  • Sequences of Volume Multipliers – Similar to the above, but applies multipliers instead of additions.
  • Maximum Volume of Each Order – A safeguard parameter to prevent opening excessively large positions.

Take Profit:

The primary purpose of this EA is loss recovery rather than profit generation. Still, traders may enable a small profit target if desired. Take Profit can be adjusted using three methods: Points, Account Currency, or Percentage of Balance. Setting these values to zero disables TP, allowing recovery to complete at break‑even.

Testing the EA:

This EA is not a direct trading tool, so testing it in the Metatrader Strategy Tester requires specific features. The EA includes built‑in options that allow you to simulate performance on historical data and identify the best settings for your trading strategy.

When testing the EA, you need to provide details of a sample trade that was intentionally opened in the wrong direction and moved into loss. This allows the EA to simulate how it manages drawdown and recovery in real trading conditions. Once you specify the time, direction, and volume of the sample position, the EA will open that trade during the test and begin monitoring its performance. As the market moves against the trade, the EA tracks the drawdown until the loss reaches the threshold you have defined. At that point, the recovery process is triggered automatically, and the EA begins applying its recovery logic. It is important to ensure that the market moves in the opposite direction after the sample position is opened, so the EA can properly demonstrate its recovery mechanism. This testing approach helps you evaluate how the EA reacts under adverse conditions, giving you valuable insight into its ability to manage losses and optimize settings for your trading strategy.

Steps to Configure Testing:

  • In the Main Settings, set EA Action = Testing Mode.
  • Enter the position details you want to recover using the following parameters:
    • TESTER Position Time – specify the time in hh:mm format (e.g., 15:35). The position will open at market price on the start date of your testing period.
    • TESTER Position Direction – choose BUY or SELL.
    • TESTER Position Volume – define the lot size of the position.
  • At the start, configure a large deposit in the tester settings to support recovery operations.
  • Optimize the EA by adjusting parameters such as:
    • Distance to Start
    • Zone Settings
    • Volume Settings

Notes:

  • Best Use: Works most effectively for positions with lower lot sizes.
  • Concurrent Trading: You can continue trading on your account while the EA manages losing positions and its own recovery trades until losses are recovered.
  • Avoid Interference: It is advised to disable trading activity from other EAs on recovery trades once recovery begins, to avoid conflicts.
  • Timeframe Independence: The EA produces the same results across all timeframes — no difference between M1, H1, or others.
  • Market Movement: If the market moves in your favor after recovery begins, simply wait. The EA is capable of recovering trades in both directions of market movement.

What is the recommended zone extension size for forex pairs, and how should I adjust this parameter when trading other instruments like cryptocurrencies, metals, or indices with different volatility profiles?

If recovery takes longer than expected, what adjustments can I make to zone parameters or volume settings to accelerate the process without exposing my account to excessive risk?

If I open a wrong trade manually and don’t know the future market trend, how exactly does Loss Recover Edge manage that position until it can be closed without loss?

How does the EA balance recovery speed with account protection, and what mindset should traders adopt when using it to ensure they don’t misinterpret its conservative design as a limitation?

Recovery is steady, not instant. I had one account where results were slower than expected, but overall it recovered my losses completely.

i have been backtesting loss recover and all is going ok but i have one very important question i noticed during testing. lets say i am monitoring the full account and an EA has gone into LOSS and the LR2 ea decides to put in a recovery trade but– the old trade that went into negative is now into positive and equity is also now positive.. can that be canceled while its active .. in other words, the ea detects as per the settings i have set that my trade went into a loss at a value i have set.. then 10 seconds later the original trade is now back to good profit also making equity good but now we… Read more »
